Three years ago I predicted the Turrialba region would be the new frontier of Costa Rica. Every day now we see new signs that this is true.

Isn’t the picture of the new courthouse impressive for a small farming community?

THE BIG NEWS

Whether or not you like Wal-Mart, you have to admit they are a sign of big progress anywhere in the world. Well, they just bought a piece of land near the new courthouse in Turrialba, and they plan to start building one of the first Wal-Marts in Costa Rica-- right here in our town.  A few months ago I announced the new Hypermas (a Wal-Mart-owned store) in Cartago which would provide a wonderful assortment of foods and American style goods, and only an hour away. Well, now it’s Wal-Mart (the real Wal-Mart) right in the middle of this fast-growing town; and only 20 minutes from Marcia’s Paradise!

While I dislike much about Wal-Mart, I must say I am happy to see them here for the convenience they offer and for the jobs they’ll provide for the local people.

If you are looking for peace and quiet with beautiful views and the best neighbors in the world, come see Marcia’s Paradise. We’ll always be happy to welcome you.
